Energate Interactive Energy Management Solutions announces release of MyEnergate Home Energy Management Mobile Application for Android platform
Ottawa, Canada — August 19, 2014 — Energate, the world’s leading provider of Interactive Energy Management Solutions, announced today the release of the company’s MyEnergate™ mobile application for the Android platform. Designed for use with Android smartphones and tablets, this release marks the company’s second into the mobile space—the first release in 2013 was developed exclusively for Apple products, including the iPhone and iPad.
For users of the Google Android platform, the MyEnergate™ thermostat application enables users to control their Energate devices from their personal Android smartphone or tablet. The 2-way MyEnergate™ application allows users to monitor and control their home temperature as well as change their mode and fan setting from anywhere in the world. Users can also control the way their thermostat responds automatically to electricity price increases to help them save money.
The Android version of MyEnergate™ application also includes graphs of customers’ home electricity usage and temperature history to help them save money. When used with Energate load switches, the MyEnergate™ application can track the electricity use of major loads in the home, including hot water tanks, pool pumps, refrigerators and home entertainment systems.
“Having mobile applications that engage consumers and allow them to interactively manage their energy is paramount to our team,” commented Steve Dodds, Chief Executive Officer of Energate. “Though the focus of our business has always been, and will continue to be interactive energy management solutions designed to support utilities and their programs, we know that to deliver the foremost solutions we need to connect the utility to the consumer. This new application, along with our iPhone application, now gives utilities the ability to offer a much wider range of benefits to their customers—they can offer a solution that is supported by the two largest mobile platforms in the world. As end users adopt our mobile applications, they in turn will have a more profound connection to their utility provider and will have the information they need to make real-time choices regarding their energy use.”
